Shoes for the Holidays

My latest splurge? Shoes. I’m loving the feeling of the holidays that I’m getting to be more adventurous on my shoe shopping spree. I’ve bought myself a couple of sneakers but I’m looking into buying a pair or two of boots too.

Boots aren’t practical to be worn all year long in this country. But since the holiday season gets slightly colder and for a longer period in the day, a pair or two helps a lot to keep warm. I’m thinking of getting a pair of UGG boots since I’ve read quite a lot about it online and I think it might work well during this season.

How many pairs of boots do you own? Does your country allow you to wear them all year round?

Going Green

One thing I don’t link when it’s rainy here is that garbage pickup is always delayed. Instead of their weekly pickup, it extends to about 11 days to a full 14 days (sometimes more). But because I also want to lessen the use of plastics in the house, I was actually thinking of starting a compost bin. I hope I can get a cheap compost tumbler too so I can go full force in reducing, recycling and reusing our waste materials.

Rainy Christmas

I just heard on the news that this year’s Christmas might be a wet and rainy one. Bummer! I was looking forward to night trips with the little girl in the villages close to where we live. I’m sure she’d love to see the Christmas lights and decors everywhere.

Oh well, I guess our boot dryers will have to stay out a while longer. I’m still praying though that the weather changes and we’ll at least have a cool and un-wet Christmas.
