A lot of people I know are now going into the hobby of… “gardening”. Maybe it’s because prices of vegetables sky rocket during the rainy season, or maybe it’s just because we’re getting more aware of what we can do in our own backyards. Whatever it is, we have also jumped the bandwagon and planted some seeds of our own.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one with a green thumb. In our family, the lucky ones are my brother, my nephew and my 3-year old niece. From eggplants (that even our neighbors beg for us to share) to watermelons and my niece’s cantaloupe seedlings, we sure can save a lot if buying what we normally take for granted. I love that they’re planting fruits since it’s both healthy and perfect during summer. I can almost imagine the cantaloupe shake that we’re about to have soon!
Because these kids take their “gardening” (aka farming) seriously, we might as well create a real gnome garden for them. Gnomes will be a cool addition to our garden and at the same time, we have had a fancy for gnomes since we were little because of the movie “Gnome Mobile”. But for me, I think the best name for their garden is the Garden of Love since everything these kids planted, and every little fruit or vegetable they sowed were all out of love.
