I have a very soft heart, and this is one of the reasons I always try to donate to charity whenever I have the chance, and of course, the money. I don’t have much, but in my own little way, I do try to help whether in church, or those I meet along the way. I always wish I can do much more, but hey, I’m just one person and I know I can’t change the world alone.
One of the charitable institutions I know is World Vision. They are quite popular, and I know almost everyone here knows what World Vision is and what they do from the active promotions that the organization is doing. In almost every mall in the city, they have booths where the volunteers give out flyers to people. I find this very effective, because the colorful flyers have all the information about the organization, their mission and vision, and the people they aim to help. This gives potential sponsors a clear picture of where their money goes and what kind of help they will be able to provide. And with World Vision, they post the pictures of the children on the front portion of the flyer and for me, I find it pretty effective. People like me see these poor children’s faces and we would be touched instantly. Who wouldn’t want to help those children get a decent education, right?
I know not every charitable institution can afford to put up posters and give our flyers, but for me, it’s a worthwhile investment because it’s effective, and it reaches more people than just plain word of mouth.
