I am a beach bum. I love the sea breeze, the sunrise and sunset, the cool water splashing on my feet..I could go on and on why I love the beach. What’s not to love right? Here in this country where beaches are known to be beautiful and breath-taking, there isn’t any reason I could think of not to love being a beach bum. Imagine lazing out in the beach at night, watching the stars and grilling hot dogs over an outdoor fire pit while chitchatting with friends… Ah, isn’t it THE life?

Here in the Philippines, a lot of people I know would want either sony digital cameras or canon digital cameras. Fuji, Panasonic and Olympus are only secondary to what most people would choose when it comes to camera brands. Personally though, I prefer Panasonic or Canon cameras simply because of they quality of the cameras they produce, as well as the image quality and reputation that they have gained over the past few years in the industry. How about you? What’s your choice of camera?

One of my high school friends from Cebu just got held up RIGHT OUTSIDE THEIR HOUSE at around 4AM this morning. She said that 2 men riding a motorcycle appeared, and grabbed her bag. She refused to give it, but one man pointed a gun at her side, and another one a knife near her throat. It just so happened that her neighbors’ security guard saw the whole thing and started shooting at the 2 men. They sped away with her bag, but I am just so grateful that she is alive and well. If not for the guard, who knows what they could have done to her?

I suddenly got to thinking, we always think of our home and our neighborhood as the safest place we could ever be. But with things like these happening, it’s really scary to think that danger lurks just outside our walls. Not even the friendly neighborhood Brooklyn Accident Lawyer can do anything about it, but it’s just sad to think that even in our own home, we can’t feel totally safe anymore.
