I was logged in to Facebook and Twitter when I received an alert from ANC and ABSCBN that former Secretary Angelo Reyes died from an apparent gun shot to the chest. I immediately researched and read all the tweets that were coming in. ABS-CBN published an article in their official website: “Reyes dies in apparent suicide“. I felt sad — the corruption mess that the big guns of the Armed Forces of the Philippines are now entangled in must have caused this, although I will not assume whether it’s guilt or shame that caused him to bring his life to an end.
Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo visited the hospital where Angelo Reyes’ body was taken, and President Noynoy Aquino and the palace gave their condolences to the Reyes family.
This is very sad, and I have read various reactions from people in Facebook, Twitter, and other social pages. But this is all I have to say: RIP Angelo Reyes. May your family have the strength to get through this very painful moment. My prayers are with you.
Guilty or not, peeps..this is not our call. He has passed away and only God knows the truth behind his sudden death. We can pray for his soul and just hope that our country will soon know the truth from all the corruption scandals that haunt us. May justice be served to those who are guilty, and may we find the courage to change. May we stop expecting President Noynoy to change the country for us, because he can’t do it alone.
