This didn’t surprise me at all, since I have been living here in Zamboanga for over a month and a half now, and it IS part of our daily life to experience a blackout of about 6 hours EVERY SINGLE EFFIN’ DAY. Yup, everyday sirs and maams! It is said that it’s a “normal” routine for blackouts to occur, not because of El Nino but because of the upcoming 2010 elections. What the heck does the national elections have anything to do with the blackouts? It seems like it’s not connected, but it actually is. As funds go towards the government to use for the campaigns. Many may think that it’s a thing of the past, but here where I am, it is a thing of the present. Corruption in its finest. Welcome to the Philippines!
ouch, araw – araw ang black out dyan. Ang hirap nyan. tapos 6 hours pa… waa ang tagal. eh di init na init mga bata dyan?
tig 3 hours sis. 3 hours sa hapon, 3 hours sa gabi. so pag hapon, we just drive around town para di mainit. pag gabi, we have a generator kasi kawawa yung mga bata kung wala.. ganito talaga dito pag election. mga june back to normal na ulit.
Don’t feel bad… it’s not only in Zamboanga, if it’s any consolation , because Metro Manila has been experiencing rotating brownouts too. Don’t know if it’s election related or something, although the timing is nothing but suspect.
